Is a doctorate the right thing for me? And if so, how do I get started and how do I organize my "project doctorate"? Our Frühjahrsakademie will help you to answer these questions and prepare for the exciting time of doctoral studies. The next Frühjahrsakademie will take place from 18 to 20 March 2025 in hybrid form. The on-site event on the opening day at Campus Essen will also be streamed in large parts, the workshop program on day 2 & 3 will take place partly on site, partly online via Zoom. Registration is possible until 28 February 2025.
If you are interested in pursuing a doctorate after your studies or have recently started your doctoral project, you will receive valuable support at this three-day event: experts from the graduate institutions of the UA Ruhr universities and experienced trainers will help you find your bearings and make informed decisions. On the first day, lectures, Q&A sessions and expert panels will focus on formal and organizational topics related to the doctorate, and the UA Ruhr's RDM team will also introduce you to research data management. The afternoon is dedicated to the possible challenges during a doctorate. On the second and third day, you can train key skills in interdisciplinary workshops that will make it easier for you to start your doctorate: from self-management and time management to presentation techniques and good scientific practice. Sharing experiences and networking are an important part of the entire program. During the breaks as well as during the workshops, you will therefore have many opportunities to get in touch with other researchers from the UA Ruhr.
The event language on the opening day is German. The workshop program on day 2 & 3 also includes workshops in English.
