The annual RGS Doctoral Conference provides a professional, stimulating, and international environment in which up to 100 PhD students in economics can discuss their research results and ideas, establish informal networks, and initiate future collaborative research. The Call for Papers for the upcoming conference "Fiscal Challenges" from 18 to 19 February 2026 is open until 31 December.
Within Research Academy, RUB Research School, the Graduate Center TU Dortmund University, and the Graduate Center Plus of the University of Duisburg-Essen combine and bundle their expertise. All activities offered under the umbrella of Research Academy are based on close cooperation and regular exchange of experience.
The joint interdisciplinary qualification offers and career events prepare early career researchers for a career in research, business, and society. All offers also promote the mutual exchange of ideas, both within specific research fields and across individual disciplines.
The Ruhr Graduate School in Economics (RGS Econ) is a co-operation project of the three UA Ruhr economics faculties with the participation of the Leibniz Institute for Economic Research (RWI) and part of the Research Academy. It offers a structured doctoral programme in the field of economics, including research-oriented courses, workshops and conferences.
